Original vintage Strassle King armchair by Strassle of Switzerland. Designed by Andre Vandenbeuck of Belgium, the swivel armchair is upholstered in stunning soft black leather. Hand built in Switzerland to incredibly high standards, the armchair has rosewood armrests and stands on a polished metal swivel base. Brought to you in excellent vintage condition, wear appropriate for age and use.
Heritage
The establishment of Strassle came about in Kirchberg, Toggenburg region of Switzerland in 1886, the upholsterer master opened Gottlieb Strässle after long time study and years as an upholstery in car construction industry. His son Ho had been in Nice as interior decorator, took over the paternal business in 1929. In the same year, he showed his first contemporary collection of upholstered furniture at the Swiss sample fair in Basel. With it also their specialisation of the production of seat furniture.
